TODD McFARLANE Says SPAWN Reboot is Coming

Owner of the single best-selling independent comic book issue ever, Todd McFarlane revealed that his titular character, Spawn, will be getting a movie reboot. Speaking via a Reddit AMA, McFarlane says that it’s a great time to be an independent creator because movie studios are looking for comic book material outside of DC and Marvel.

With Spawn as Image’s flagship title, it’s only a matter of time before the reboot goes into production as McFarlane is working hard on a script which he says is a hard R-rated film and in the horror movie genre. These will distinguish Spawn from every other superhero movie and will most likely be produced by someone other than Warner Bros. or Disney who own DC and Marvel, respectively.
