'Simon Pegg' co-writing Star Trek 3?

Geeks rejoice!! Word on the street is that 'Simon Pegg' is set to co-write 'Star Trek 3'. What gives this story major traction is that Simon Pegg himself has shared and retweeted this story. So I'm thinking its 100% true and I'm looking forward to the next Star Trek installment. I was worried after the departure of JJ Abrams but with Pegg on board writing this could be amazing!
