'Gremlins' Reboot dead?

I know fans of the original two 'Gremlins' films didn't want a remake or reboot. And I'm here to tell you that you may have gotten your wish. As of right now the 'Gremlins' reboot which would have acknowledged the first two films but had new characters has finally died. Talks were picking up last year but slowly surely faded into preproduction hell.
