Even with the PS4s 500GB harddrive that is user upgradeable, space can still be an issue. Nyko has come up with a add on harddrive that connects to your PS4 to add more storage up to 6TB using a 3.5'' desktop hardrives. The Data bank should be available for $30~40 when released. The design mimics the PS4's aesthetics, but it does add a large component to the top of the console. 6TB is most likely a bit over the top for most PS4 users, but after a few years data begins to pile up. If the lifespan of the PS4 is anything like the PS3, there will be a need for additional capacity at some point. Those with large media libraries will also find the Data Bank useful. With todays game consoles geared to be the all in one media component of the home entertainment center it is plexing that they still stick with limited capacity 2.5" drives in consoles, but this is likely do to size constraints more than any other consideration.
